Since diesel prices are currently so unpredictable, it has unfortunately become just as impossible to make reliable forecasts as it has to calculate long-term freight costs. This is why our cargo invoices contain a separate variable for diesel.
Our diesel prices are always adjusted in line with the most recent data from the Federal Statistical Office of Germany. Click here for online information about average monthly diesel prices (for bulk consumers):

The reference price is €1.05/litre. We compare this with the monthly average price to determine the price adjustment (+/- surcharge), which includes a diesel component of 20%, two months later on the first of the month*.
If you have any questions about this, we will of course be glad to help.

* In the event of exceptional, unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control – in particular, but not limited to, geopolitical events, significant market disruptions, government measures or comparable external influences – which lead to a significant and short-term rise in diesel prices, we are entitled, in deviation from the agreed adjustment mechanism, to make an immediate or even intra-monthly adjustment to the relevant reference value and the diesel surcharge based thereon.
Such an adjustment shall be based on objectively verifiable market indicators (in particular published diesel price indices) and serves exclusively to offset the additional costs incurred directly as a result.
